Among the prototypes were Porsche's Model 42 Below team A, sporting a cast turret and that of team B Rheinmetall whose cast turret was somewhat higher. Maybe it just fits my play style but I play really well in it. I don't know how to describe it but When it happened the damage starts piling up. Of course, like all tanks, it has a downside: the armor is almost as weak as the Bat Chatillon 25 tüberfall Recklinghausen even HE splashes will cripple it severely. The suspension will switch on automatically, just like on the new Swedish medium tanks.
Then it remains a paper sniper, but with those buffs it can perform it's main role better. I would much rather see a more unique Leopard with weak turret but super good gun dispersion and accuracy values, good mobility and decent camo.
Remember, the Tank isn't Designed around Armor in the first place It's built around the Gun and Mobility Mobility Adjustments to the same Hidden Numbers would also Improve things, or something to aid Camo under Movement similar to a Light, but somewhere Inbetween maybe It needs to be put in the Role it's meant to have, not just another Cardboard Cutout Medium like the others It was never Meant to be like them Leo1 and STB problem is no pen to distance.
I agree, at least 8 or 9 normal and then tilt the extra degrees. This needs to be looked over. I have the Leopard 1 and i like that its role is enhanced.
However the maps very often are made for brawlers and it will be hit or miss whether or not the changes will be meaningful.
Making a sniper tank better at shooting one the move and less durable is crazy. Buff its pen and alpha make it crazy accurate and buff its camo rating done leopard 1 better.
They had the right idea with up its alpha the less it had to expose itself to do the same damage was nice.
But overall im happy with the leo changes but PTA changes that tank is perfect please leave it alone.
Please buff the pen and dispersion back on the amx 30 b please. Idk about the stb 1 would like to test it. The lack of pen on the STB-1 and gun handling is still going to make that tank worthless, due to the fact that heavy tanks have thicker armor in the front and since WG, likes those corridor it would be hard to have a close fighter tank, then WG is going to nerf the movement on this tank, might as sell those STB-1 and go for the Swedes cause they will move faster, but hey I am a stupid player what do I know.
Maybe stop worrying about unique play styles and maybe just buff the tanks a bit. Also love how a Russian medium even talking about being nerfed brings out every Unicom saying we cant nerf there favorite tanks but if its tanks like tds that have no problem nerfing them and removing them.
After the buff it's a great tank, the extra alpha and gun handling really really helped the tank. Cowcat 3 Posted Jun 14 - Major.
What we need is a Leopard skin for the Object When you play the Leo you either Chai snipe or you play aggressive with cover. If you play aggressive get ready to be punished so you'll need to rely on your team to help out.
Since , the Leopard 1 has gradually been relegated to secondary roles in most armies. Leopard hulls have been re-used in a wide variety of roles.
The Leopard project started in November in order to develop a modern tank, the Standard-Panzer, to replace the Bundeswehr's American-built M47 and M48 Patton tanks, which, though just delivered to West Germany's recently reconstituted army, were rapidly growing outdated.
On 25 July the detailed specifications were released; the new design needed to weigh no more than thirty metric tons, have a power-to-weight ratio of thirty horsepower per ton, be able to withstand hits by 20 mm rapid-fire guns on every side as well as operate in a battlefield contaminated with chemical weapons or radioactive fallout, the then-standard baseline for combat with the Warsaw Pact.
In addition the main armament had to consist of a mm caliber weapon the new British L7A3 mm gun was selected , carrying at least as many rounds as current US tank designs.
Mobility was the priority while firepower came second; armour was seen as less essential, as it was believed no real protection against hollow charge weapons was possible anyway.
France was very interested in the design as its own AMX 50 project had just failed. Three German Arbeitsgruppe A, B and C and one French design team would be included in a competition, with each team producing two prototypes each.
In September, Italy joined the development program. Several prototypes were entered for testing in Among the prototypes were Porsche's Model from team A, sporting a cast turret and that of team B Rheinmetall whose cast turret was somewhat higher.
Team C from Borgward, designing a very futuristic tank, failed to have a prototype ready in time.. Even before these first prototypes were finished, it had in been decided that a second phase with improved designs would be started: Team A had to build 26 phase II Prototypes for testing, team B six.
Only two tanks of the required six would actually be constructed by team B. The Porsche Prototype II was eventually selected as the winner of the contest in ; this did not come as a surprise: it had already been decided in to build a preseries of fifty vehicles based on this design; production of these was started that very year.
This "0-series" was modified with a new cast turret and several hull changes to raise the rear deck to provide more room in the engine compartment, and move some of the radiators to the upper sides of the hull.
Before mass production of the standard version started it was also decided to add an optical range-finding system for better long-range gunnery, which required the turret to be somewhat taller, and added "bumps" on either side of the turret to mount the optics for triangulation.
Production was set up at Krauss-Maffei of Munich from early onward, with deliveries of the first batch between September, and July, Germany has a strict export policy for military equipment; Greece, Spain and Chile, while still dictatorships, purchased the French AMX After the first batch was delivered the next three batches were the Leopard 1A1 model, which included a new gun stabilization system from Cadillac-Gage, allowing the tank to fire effectively on the move.
The 1A1 also added the now-famous "skirts" along the sides to protect the upper tracks, and a new thermal jacket on the gun barrel to control heating.
A less important change was to use rectangular rubber blocks fastened to the treads with a single pin instead of the earlier two-pin "shaped" versions.
The rubber blocks could be easily replaced with metal X-shaped crampons for movement on ice and snow in the winter. I just looked at the average win rate for the Leopard 1, I'd say the tank that needs the most buffing is the M48 Patton.
It has an average of Community Forum Software by IP.
